Yeah, i have a random game comment!  >:( Don't you just hate movie/cartoon conversion games? The only half-decent one was Spider Man 2....oh, the new Bratz movie has come out! *GASP* We MUST make a game of it, we MUST!! It'll be as crap as all hell, but we must still use our $5 budget, and MAKE THIS GAME!! John, stop crying, we can get through this! Mary, don't you dare jump out of that wind- oh, too late! damn it all, what's wrong with you people? Sure, everyone hated Iron Man, and Barbie, and the Incredible Hulk, but THIS time, it'll be different!! ....What are you doing with that gun? John, John, Stop, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

...*embarrassed laugh* Sorry for my little rant there...

I know for a fact that the people working on the new Bratz game are ashamed of themselves :P  But it pays their wages.

They should be ashamed. Very very ashamed...

Jinx made a very good point though!! You spend ages researching suitable things for your campaign. Maybe you make a new class, like a Gunslinger (C'mon DMs and Players, we've all wanted to do it), then you make weapons for that class, then you combine the several magic items to make new ones to put into your campaign. Then, after a week or so, Wizards of the Coast releases a new book. The world of Frickin' Gunslingers. And guess what? All the things you were aiming to create? All in there, and probably better too.

Wizards of the Coast? You can kiss the hairiest part of my ass. Roll for Initiative. ^_^

For those that haven't got the Red Alert 3 remix, which is free to download and awesome:

http://www.ea.com/redalert/movie.jsp?id=11

Watch the video and be prepared to see some familliar faces such as Randy Couture, Tim Curry, Gemma Atkinson adn that guy that played Sulu in Star Trek: The Original Series.

Another rant about something that annoys me.

Pokemon. And the fact it still is going. Why? They'll run out of colours soon.

I'll say it again.

Pokemon.

Told you I'd (probably) be getting it today. :D I've not even played it yet as I've been down the hospital, all I could think of was getting home and busting open my Vault-tec lunchbox to see the goodies inside.

Pokemon. And the fact it still is going. Why? They'll run out of colours soon.

Well it's simplistic. Any one over the age of about 6 can pick the game up go "hey I like these dudes" and play through the story and have fun with the game. The child targeting should be obvious so I won't point it out.

It is also deep. EVs IVs nature, breeding moves and so on. There is a lot of customisation

And that deepness means it fills a niche. If you can name any other game where you can spend hours breeding stats and moves onto your team mates. Make a team of 6 of them trying to cover all the eventualites and them fight against other players in an RPG with as much polish that also has the variety and also the balance* of pokemon then I will buy and then eat a hat** and also buy that game.

And I'm just talking about the game and not the market penetration that has been achieved by it keeping it's status as a household name and the skill of the localisation into English (Fun Fact: The japanese version has most battle text take two screens of text so you have to press A twice for each move, the english version most is compressed to one screen to reduce the need to scroll, lets hope whom ever takes over from Nob Ogasawara keeps it like this).

* Anyone who is about to go "yah but legendaries" please remember teams of all legendaries have been beaten by a single lovedisc and although gimicky as hell I've seen a level 100 deoxys lose to a lvl 1 ratatta.

** by hat I mean cake

Well good sir, I tip my hat to you....if I had a hat...>_>        <_<         >_>

What a rant...*phew*

It still hasn't changed that much, although by your reckoning it has no need to...but just look at it! *holds up my copy of Pearl*
The pokemon get weirder and weirder, the designs slipping from cool 'n cute, to useless and unimaginative. Granted they put more effort into Diamond and Pearl...but that will pass.
People STILL, and forever will use the same pokemon and the same tactics.
"Ohh, ohh, I'm so cool! I am going to use explosion at the start of the battle!"
"Ohh ohh, I'm invincible! I'm going to use Protection or those other 10 odd moves that do the same thing despite it being next to usless except against those who use explosion at the start of the battle!"
"Look at me! I have shiny-versions of all pokemon and I use lots of legendaries because I use a cheat system! I think I'm unbeatable! I like to stick my foot into my mouth, chew the skin off, and get rabies, than bite my cat to give it rabies, then make it bite other people to give the whole world rabies! Then I'm going to tie a piece of string to a five pound note, and taunt homeless people with it! Then I'm going home to shoot my family, because THATS HOW GREAT I AM AT LIFEEEEEEEE!!!! *foaming at the mouth*"

*puff* *wheeze* *pant*

....don't care what anybody says. I hate pokemon. Oh, excuse me for a sec...*Picks up DS and keeps fishing on pokemon, laughing manically*

I agree that the franchise is getting a bit tired. I wouldn't even have bought Pearl if it weren't for the fact that I could port my old pokes over. They made a lot of effort with D/P though, it's certainly not as bad as R/S/E, and I'd say this new generation is a worthy continuation of the series.

WE MUST TRADE FRIEND CODES. I am a Pokémon breeding machine, seriously.

A breeding machine? Is that something that lets Wailord and Skitty breed with out it breaking physics?

My breeding project was on a roll for a while, but it newer games came and stole away my attention.

But hey Platinum will probably respark it all.

I don't have my own DS anymore, otherwise I'd bring Pearl with me to the Con. >_<

In Australia. I gave it to my ex-wife. She may have treated me like crap and forced me out of the country, but I loved her. It was a parting gift among many. =(

You have no idea how much I can relate to this sentiment.
