*Mess Hall

"Erm...very well. As for your question, Tukal, we will be running on day and night shifts until we reach New Bajor, so it is up to you what you wish to do. As for while you are on duty...see if you can get a little background on your staff. Nothing too invasive, just some general details. This is an excellent time to familiarise yourself with the security crew. You can report to me once you feel you have compiled enough information."

Lorval turns to the doctor.

"Doctor, if you could take an inventory of our medical bay and inform me if there is anything we are lacking in."

He then taps his communicator.

"Emray, just to let you know, I would like you to get to know your engineering staff and then report to me once you have gathered enough information. I want to get to know my crew through my senior staff before meeting them personally. There is no deadline, so take as long as you wish, though I would prefer your opinion on them before we reach New Bajor."

Lorval stands from his seat and looks around at the rest of the crew.

"As for the rest of you, I hope you are happy aboard this ship. Please get to know your surroundings and quarters and let me know of any concerns you might have. I'll be happy to take them under advisement. If that is all...dismissed."

He starts to leave the Mess Hall.

Tukal will stop Lorval before he leaves.
"Captain, I would like to set up a simple combat drill in one of the cargo bays. I will need some empty crates, as well as some simple low impact energy weapons, and I would require the aid of our chief engineer."
Tukal will glance over at Emray.

OOC: Bearing in mind Emray has left the Mess Hall. XP

*Mess Hall

Lorval stops and turns to face the Cardassian.

"That's an excellent idea! I will inform our engineer."

He taps his communicator.

"Captain Lorval to Emray. Could you help our Security Chief in setting up a few combat drills in one of the cargo bays? There should be some empty crates there to use."

He turns back to Tukal.

"You know where the weapons are kept, you can take several from there. I will be keen to observe some of the drills."

Lorval smiles and then leaves the Mess Hall to return to the Bridge.

Tukal realises Emray isn't actually in the room, and questions his sanity for a second or two, then remembers that he's Cardassian, and therefore pretty awesome.
"Excellent, Captain. I will set to work straight away."

Each roll will be half an hours cooking, and the target result will be 60

Tukal explains what he needs to Emray for the cargo bay.
"I need a series of low barricades, and a number of targets. The objective of the exercise is to utilise your surroundings, look for an optimal spot that provides good cover and eliminate the enemy. Everybody will need to reach point A to B whilst taking down as many targets as possible. Five to ten would do nicely."
Tukal rests an assuring hand on Emray's shoulder.
"I would insist you take part, thoughen you up a little."

Tukal would want to stay with Emray to assist in setting up the course, unless he is needed elsewhere.

This is to make the course, the cover e.t.c not the targets they will be a seperate craft check.

Emrey can make a Craft check to make an obsticle course of sorts. Certain specialisations might help in the Craft, being trained in Engineering will also give you an additional bonus. Fortunatly a miniture tractor beam grants you an additional +1 as it allows you to move things around easilly.

If you want Tukal can aid Emrey giving him an additional +1, by explaining more what he wants and helping to move things e.t.c only if Tukal is trained in either Craft or Engineering.

with my three in craft, plus a +1 bonus from being an enginer and a +1 from the beam, i get

( 5 + 5 ) + 5 = 15

Tukal trusts Emray's experience in Engineering, as Tukal also can't remember if he has Crafting or Engineering.

Ok within an hour Emrey has set up a small course through the cargo bay. Some good designing on his part means the little course is quite fluid with adequate cover.

Now to make the targets. You have two choices for targets, firstly you could make a very basic set of targets that simply pop up when someone is nearby.

Secondly, seeing as Starfleet engineers can make anything, you could go for something a tadge more advanced; this target will incorporate a phaser at a setting little more than just light so not harmful.

The first targets will involve a Craft check as they are very simple, being more advanced and requiring basic targeting systems the second targets require an Engineering check.

Decide which type of target you wish to make, it will be an extended action with the DC for the Craft check being 30 and the DC for the Engineering check set at 60.
