Lorval shakes his head as the image disappears.

"With Starfleet there's always something you have to be aware of. Alright, Owen, take us out! Plot a course for the wormhole."

The Captain presses a few buttons on his armrest.

"Tam, could you remain in my office for the moment? I'll be right in to discuss a few things."

Eh, but, probably not." - Elven Blood Mage, Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

"Moorings clear, thrusters engaged. Bringing us about, and course laid in for the wormhole." Owen says as he's working at the helm console.

"Message coming through from DS9, we are clear to go through the Celestial Temple, they detect no-one coming from the other side." Says Baren.

"Waiting on your go, Captain." Owen says as he turns to look at Lorval.

Lorval nods.

"Take us through, Owen."

OOC: I just want to say, the urge to say "Engage" or "Make it so" was so powerful, but I resisted! XP

Owen turns back to his console and the ship moves, as the ship nears the mouth of the wormhole it bursts open on the view screen. The ship moves into the anomoly and starts to shake as you enter.

"Sheesh its a rough ride." Owen says as he tries to navigate through the wormhole.

"Our deflectors and inertial dampners need to be adjusted to compensate," Baren says opening a comm channel "Emrey can you try and sort this out? More power to the deflectors should protect us from most of the gravimetric sheers. Inertial dampners should do the rest."

"on it baren"

"shrav, free up some power from the wepones"

shrav roles ( 5 + 6 ) + 7 = 18

with the free power, (metaphoricly speaking) emray puts it in to the defelector dish and interal dampners

( 2 + 2 ) + 7 = 11

"Alik, see if you can fix the damage to the wepones"

"thats good. captin, we should feel an easing up of problems now, just be careful with the wepones. i borowed power from there. ive got Alik on it now. thay should be repeared in an hour"

"pfft, an hour? 20 minits, tops, you'll see" alik says

in any event, its more like 30, with a score of ( 5 + 3 ) + 10 = 18

on his return, emray is sutbly impressed not to say anything about the slight discrpency...

The shaking begins to subside as the deflectors and inertial dampeners recieve their new power.

"Yes thats working, everything is now easilly within tolerence. Captain we should be fine the rest of the way."

"Good! See when he's not getting his face mushed by a Klingon, Emrey ain't a half bad engineer."

"Alik and Shrav can be a bit annoying though sometimes I find."

"Ones a Romulan and the others an Andorian, its practically part of their species for them to be arrogrant. I've yet to meet a Romulan who didn't think they were in some way superior, same as I think its unheard of for an Andorian to not be a bit aggressive. Plus its worth putting up with them for their still alone, thats some strong stuff they make."

"Weren't you drinking Romulan Ale earlier?"

"Yes, got a shot from the doc though to counter its effects, didn't know we'd be leaving so soon."

"Thank you for that, Emray. I knew I hired you for a reason."

Lorval grins as he closes the channel.

"Stay alert, Owen. Don't want us ending up standed here, between Quadrants."

*Capitan's Office*

Tam holds on to his chair throughout the turbulence,

"I hope we make it to the Gamma Quadrant in one piece!"

As the turbulence dies he relaxes and lets out a deep sigh "I hate space"

He stands up tentatively, wary of anymore shaking. He wonders around the room taking in the sights if any.

Lorval leaves his chair.

"Owen, let me know once we're out of the wormhole. I just need to discuss a few things with our newest member of the crew."

He nods to his Bridge crew and signals to Tukal.

"Let me know of any problems, Tukal. For now, you're in charge on the Bridge."

Lorval leaves the Bridge and heads to his office.

*Captain's Office

"Alright, sorry to keep you waiting. Please, have a seat."

Lorval indicates to one of the free chairs in front of his desk as he settles into his own chair.

"Now, I just wanted to see how you felt on being...involved in any potential business discussions. To cut to the chase, I'd like to use your mental talents to our advantage. Before you say anything, please be aware that I would not ask you to do anything that might compromise your morals. Your empathic skills would be quite enough. What do you think?"

Lorval leans forward on his desk, his arms folded, as he waits for Tam's answer.

*Capitan's office*

Tam takes a seat opposite Lorval and listens to his proposal

Tam smiles "Capitan i would be glad to help in any way i can."

he leans slightly forward in his seat to adopt a more relaxed posture.

"I am no stranger to the ways of negotiation and if it means i am able to meet new species and cultures then i will consider it a privilege"

Captain's Office

"Excellent! Then, I have only one more thing left to say!"

Lorval stands and offers Tam his hand.

"Welcome to the Bridge," he says with a smile.
