Star Trek USS Aegir
« on: Sun 17 May 2009 16:23:21 »
Ok so the bio thread, I know its about time right?

Well the bios just take the standard format, nothing special really! I'll tell you your ranks when you PM me your bio! (Which of course if you don't do before posting will put you right in the middle of some real red tape turd! :p )

The USS Aegir and her crew are being put together at the utmost secrecy, the true details of this will be posted up in the game thread later. For the moment this means, that your characters can border (but not cross) the borders of radical, your still Starfleet but maybe for whatever reasons you've got your position quicker than normal, or your not the type of person Starfleet would choose outright for such a high position in your department.

Of course you don't have to do this I just wanted to give people to option if they so desired!

I guess I have to lead by example eh? So here is the bio for Raevis Colmeman, who you will refer to as GOD! Or more probably...Captain

Rank: Captain
Race: Human
Age: 31
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 168Lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Grey
Build: Athletic

•   Father = John Richard Coleman (Human)
•   Mother = Marie Stellar Coleman (Human)

•   Sister (Older - 34) = Joanna Louise Sargon
•   Brother (Younger - 24) = James Decker Coleman
   Spouse/Girlfriend/Arranged Partner:
•   Fiancé - Irlana (30 - Trill)

Personality

Before Raevis joined Starfleet he had a strong carefree streak, a cocky attitude and was an arrogant person and he believed he didn’t need anyone. This arrogance comes from his natural talent with shuttlecraft, from construction/modification to flying and racing, this however changed after his accident.
After the accident Raevis’ entire reality took a shock, it changed him greatly and his personality wasn’t unaffected. Raevis’ became a lot more accepting of other people and in some cases required it, his arrogance was also gone; in fact he prefers to get the opinions of those around him if time is on his side. He tries hard to maintain the moral of his staff and is as lenient as possible with free time and recreational activates.

Background

Raevis was born on a Federation colony and was bought up in a very anti-military family, his parents are both against Starfleet, they believed that they were part cause of the conflicts in the universe; now Raevis has realised how narrow minded his parents are. His education was normal apart from the fact he was bought up to be anti-Starfleet; it was discovered quite early on however that Raevis had a natural affinity with flying and fixing shuttlecraft.
Over the next ten years Raevis got heavily involved in illegal shuttle racing throughout the quadrant and on many occasions had to escape from Starfleet when one of their ships would come across one of the races. During a particularly hard circuit through an asteroid belt Raevis suffered an accident that changed his entire outlook on life and changed his personality drastically. While dodging the asteroids a fellow racer nudged Raevis’ craft off the track and it collided head on with an asteroid, before the usual rescue teams could be despatched though a Starfleet vessel appeared and they all ran leaving Raevis to die from the severe injuries.
Fortunately for Raevis the ship detected the crash and beamed him aboard, there he received the urgent medical attention he needed which subsequently saved his life. Raevis had to spend a few months in the medical bay and during that time met a lot of the crew members of the ship. At first he didn’t really speak to them but over the time he got to know some of them, this experience changed him and his views on Starfleet with them. When the ship next docked at a starbase he got off and the commanding officer and crew were kind enough to ‘forget’ about the illegal racing and gave him a fresh start.
With his experience on the starship and this fresh start Raevis was a changed person, he joined Starfleet as quickly as he could, deciding that his parents were fools to think what they did about Starfleet. Unfortunately they didn’t take this well and he hasn’t spoken to them since, his brother and sister however still keep in contact with him so he isn’t completely severed from his family. It didn’t take long before Raevis was assigned to the fighter track where he picked up the call sign ‘Daredevil’ for his ‘too close to the line’ flying and tactics. During his time at the academy he met his now fiancé, a Trill called Irlana who was in the engineering course, a course that crosses briefly with fighters when the engineers learn about fighters and the fighter pilots also learn how to maintain and fix their crafts.
They grew close and after the academy kept in touch with each other from their respective assignments. Raevis was assigned as a fighter pilot on the frontlines against the Dominion, his ship took part in many skirmishes and due to their casualties Raevis found himself head of the fighter department many years sooner than peace time would have had it. Captain Tarin felt that despite the speed of his ascension Raevis was the right man for the position, so he remained, department head within two years of leaving the academy; the stress of the war and the loss of so many crewmembers was weighing heavily on him already, the added stress of his new position would have probably pushed him over the edge.
A skirmish with a Cardassian ship left Raevis crash landed on a planet, his fighter took a glancing blow while performing a slingshot manoeuvre causing him to enter the atmosphere at an unstable trajectory. Somehow he survived the crash but was stranded on the planet with no idea if his ship managed to escape the Cardassians, he didn’t have much time to dwell on it though, the planet’s climate was harsh and he had to focus on surviving. It took a month before he was rescued by a Klingon Bird of Prey the K’Tara,, on the journey back to Federation space he impressed the crew while helping defend the ship from a Jem’Hadar boarding party throwing himself in the way of a shot to defend the K’Tara’s captain, losing his hand in the process.
Upon his return to Earth Raevis underwent surgery to replace his hand, during this time Starfleet awarded him with the medal for valour and the Purple Heart, the captain of the K’Tara swore him a blood debt. It took him a while to recover from the surgery and when he did he was assigned to Starfleet Academy, a psychologist decided that he wasn’t up to frontline duties. With only the promise of remaining at the academy for the rest of his career Raevis decided to apply for Command Academy, fortunately he was accepted and has only just graduated. Now he is assigned to arrive at  starbase 37 to take command of the Aegir, the rest of the details have been withheld from him and what little he knows has been ordered to secrecy.

Surname: Leeya
Other Names: Kannu
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Race: Bajoran (1/4 Human)
Age: 34
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 140lbs
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Green
Build: Average
Parents:
  • Mother - Leeya Dakin (Half Bajoran/Half Human)
  • Father - Leeya Parn (Bajoran)
Siblings:
  • None
Partner:
  • None

Personality

Kannu comes across as distancing himself from others almost to the point of unfriendliness. However this is because he tends to act formally around those he respects and admires. Those he has no respect for find his polite formality cut down to the smallest of lip service. Kannu is in two minds over his resolute dedication to something once he puts his mind to it; it has caused as many problems as it has helped with.

Background

Born aboard a smuggling vessel crewed by members of the Bajoran Resistance Kannu's parents knew it was no place to raise a child. Even if they left to look after a child, the refuge camps were not the best place to spend a childhood, so at an early age Kannu was sent to live with his grandparents in the Federation Colony of New France.
His grandmother ensured that he did not forget his Bajoran heritage despite his Federation schooling. As he was growing older he longed to fight against the Cardassian to free his home world, even though he had never set foot there and this only grew stronger when, at age 13, his parents were executed as suspected resistance members responsible for the destruction of an orbital dry-dock.
As Kannu grew older he also grew more mature and decided that running away and joining the resistance would only slightly help them, and would be disrespectful to the society he grew up in. He decided he would apply to join Starfleet. This would give him training and discipline he thought he would need, but also allow him to pay off his perceived debt.
Kannu had a largely uneventful time at Starfleet Medical Academy. Spending much of his time studying in order to keep up with what he found to be an increasingly difficult course. However Kannu enjoyed the process of learning and graduated from his course. After graduating he was offered a routine assignment as a medical officer onboard the U.S.S. Nambu. The war against the dominion made the assignment much less routine.
Replaced by the Akira, the Ambassador class cruiser was use mainly in a support role, though was often called in to reinforce sectors when needed. Despite the constant threat of battle Kannu enjoyed the challenges the war brought. The reality of the war finally set in when during the battle of Cardassia the Nambu was destroyed and several of his friends died.
After the war Kannu was requested to serve under Chief Medical Officer Comer aboard a Nova Class research vessel and all though the councillor aboard the U.S.S. Arctowski mistook Kannu's formality as an attempt to distance himself from the crew after the death of many of his friends aboard the Nambu Kannu assured her it was just how he was.
In fact Kannu's fondness for the crew of the Arctowski almost caused him to refuse his reassignment, however after thinking it over and discussing the matter he soon grew to relish the opportunity, despite not knowing fully what it would entail.
There she goes. Human misery is a wonder to behold. Revel in her pain my dear boy!
